Start your transfer

You need the domain name and its EPP / authorization code.

How the transfer works

  1. Unlock the domain

At your current registrar, remove the transfer lock and turn off WHOIS privacy if it hides your e-mail address.

  2. Get the EPP code

Ask your current registrar for the transfer code, also called EPP or authorization code.

  3. Order the transfer here

Enter the domain and the code above, add it to the cart and complete the order.

  4. Approve and wait

Confirm the e-mail you may receive. Most transfers finish within 5–7 days and we keep you updated.

Before you start

  • The domain is older than 60 days and was not transferred in the last 60 days.
  • The domain is unlocked at your current registrar.
  • You can receive e-mail at the domain's administrative address.
  • The domain has not expired.

Frequently asked questions

Will my website or e-mail stop working?

No. The nameservers stay the same during the transfer, so your website and e-mail keep working. You can change them afterwards if you want.

How long does a transfer take?

Usually 5 to 7 days, depending on the extension and on how fast the current registrar releases the domain. Some extensions are faster.

Where do I find the EPP code?

In the control panel of your current registrar, usually in the domain's transfer or security settings. If you cannot find it, ask their support.

Do I lose the remaining time of my registration?

No, it is kept. For most extensions the transfer also adds one year to the expiry date.
